What should I do if there is a Power Outage and I can ’t charge my EV at home?

If you experience a power outage, don’t worry! Your Mercedes-Benz EV offers multiple charging solutions. Locate a nearby public charging station using the Mercedes Me Charge network. You can also take advantage of fast-charging DC stations that can replenish your battery in a minimal amount of time.

Charging options for an electric vehicle can be broken down into three categories: Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3.

Charging your Mercedes-Benz EV is convenient! Level 1 chargers are great for quick top-ups, Level 2 chargers like the Mercedes-Benz Wallbox offer faster at-home charging, and Level 3 DC fast chargers found at public stations can add significant range in minutes.

How Long Does It Take to Charge an EV?

While Level 1 is the Mercedes-Benz free chargers provided by the dealership, these take the longest, often up to 10 hours to fully power your vehicle. Level 2, also known as Mercedes-Benz Wallbox home charging stations, takes between 1 and 5 hours. Level 3 chargers are the fastest, charging your vehicle in as little as 30 minutes.

Do I need a certain kind of outlet at home to charge my Mercedes-Benz EV?

How to Improve Your Mercedes-Benz EV Range

How expensive is it to install an EV charger at my house?

L1 chargers come with the purchase of an EV and don ’t cost anything extra. They use a standard outlet, so there is not additional cost of installation either. I dedicated L2 charger installed by an electrician can cost anywhere between $200 and $1,500. How can I reduce the cost of charging an EV?

It ’s easier than you might think. Charging at home with an L1 or L2 charger is usually less expensive than at a public charging station. How do EV tax credits work?

Do I Qualify for Federal Tax Credits for Electric Vehicles?
