Which Countries Build Mercedes-Benz Cars?

Mercedes-Benz was founded and headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany. The brand’s primary assembly plant also operates out of Stuttgart. The first plant to be built outside of Germany after the end of WWII was located in Argentina — and this plant is still active today. Mercedes-Benz has plants in 22 other countries as well, such as:

Which Mercedes-Benz Models Are Built in the U.S.?

In February 1997, the Mercedes-Benz U.S. International plant located in Vance, Alabama produced its first car. Nowadays, the U.S. manufacturers some of the luxury brand’s most popular passenger cars, including:

  • Mercedes-Benz C-Class: The C-Class is available to U.S. buyers as a sedan, coupe, or cabriolet. Although smaller than its E-Class and S-Class siblings, the C-Class delivers turbo power, DYNAMIC SELECT®, PRESAFE®, power front seats with driver memory, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
  • Mercedes-Benz GLE: The GLE can be had as an SUV or Coupe. The GLE SUV comes standard with 4MATIC® all-wheel drive and a cargo capacity of 80.3 cubic feet, while the GLE Coupes are AMG®-powered.
  • Mercedes-Benz GLS: The GLS SUV seats seven people, tows up to 7,500 pounds, and offers up to 93.8 cubic feet in the cargo area.
